We moved into our apartment about the time my grandmother passed away. She had wanted me to have her china, since I was the oldest granddaughter. I also inherited the hutch that went with it, but it was big and awkward in our place. When I saw this buffet, I was hoping it would hold all of the set and more. It did, with room to spare! It was considerably smaller than the old hutch, and was great for the farmhouse look I had been going for! It said it takes two people to assemble, but I did it alone. It was easy, came with all the needed hardware, and the pieces all fit together perfectly. If you have storage needs and have a small space, this will work great!I purchased this for more storage in my kitchen. Assembly took some time but after I got the parts organized it was easy. I do wish it was a bit deeper but still worth it.Came very well packed, box within a box. Easy to assemble, but takes time. Hard to beat at this price point for RTA, and shipped to your house too. Very similar in style and color to the other pieces. We're happy with how it turned out. Would purchase again.PRO: Cabinet looks very good. CON: Very POOR cabinet slide design. See below.On July 25, 2022, I ordered the Maison Arts Buffet Cabinet. The assembly of the cabinet took about two (2) hours. When I inserted the two (2) drawers, they would not go in all the way. I had to disassemble the drawers and the cabinet to get the drawers “unstuck”. I requested a replacement. The seller has a telephone but the seller does not answer the phone. The seller responds by email. With the help of Amazon Customer Service, I finally received a replacement on August 12, 2022. I started the assembly of the replacement cabinet at 10am and finished at 3pm, five (5) hours. The drawers on the replacement cabinet stuck out just like the first cabinet. Most of the five (5) hours was used to determine why the drawers would not go in all the way. I finally modified the slides on the right side of the drawers to make the drawers work. The drawers work but not the best. The modified drawers need an extra push to go in all the way. The engineering of the slides is a terrible design. After getting the drawers to work, I decided to keep the replacement cabinet. However, if you do not have time or energy to figure out how to make the drawers work, I would not recommend buying this cabinet.The other thing Amazon Customer Service helped me with is to identify that this cabinet is not from Amazon but from a third party vendor or seller. Check who is the product “sold by”. If it does not say Amazon, I would contact the seller through Amazon to verify the seller’s return policy and return location. Initially, I was told I had to send the replacement to China at my cost. I did not know the cabinet came from China. The cost would be more than the purchase price of the cabinet if I shipped it back to China. I protested and received a location which was 106 miles from my house. The cost to return the replacement cabinet in the original box was over $104 at my cost. The unit takes two (2) people to carry.The other thing to watch out for is the seller contacting you outside of Amazon. After receiving emails from various representatives of the seller, I was told by Amazon Customer Service that it is against Amazon policy for the seller to contact the buyer directly instead of going through Amazon. This is another lesson learned. If the seller contacts the buyer directly not using Amazon, Amazon does not know what is transpiring between the buyer and the seller. The representatives of the seller sent me emails from different companies of the seller so I did not know for sure if it was a scam or real.Make sure you work with and through Amazon for your orders. I must give credit to the following three women of Amazon Customer Service. Without the help from Jel, Joy and Andrea of Amazon Customer Service, I probably would still be arguing with the seller.**update they did send me a new piece without the discoloration at no extra cost. Looks good now.This would have been a nice piece if the holes for the screws were the right size (what a nightmare getting them in) and the paint job would have been done properly. By the time I noticed that door I had already built most of it. Notice the difference in paint from other doors overall not just the unpainted part. They sent me an unfinished piece.It’s a good sizeI like the cabinet. That being said, the handles are plastic. Took about 1 hour to put together.I’m very happy with this cabinet. It took us about 2 hours to put together. Disappointed it didn’t come with wood glue. We used liquid nails for extra strength and stability. Only one small imperfection on a drawer front (pictured above). Overall very happy with the size and quality for the room we are using it in.
