I purchased two of these chairs for my breakfast bar area. Assembly went quickly. Under 30 minutes for both chairs.PROS:1) I love the fabric, high back and nailhead details.2) Looks high quality and I would say the actual seat is built nicely and sturdy. But the base has some issues discussed next.As this is for myself (I’m 5’4”) and my son (He’s 6 years old. Appx. 40 lbs) I will now list the cons of the chair.CONS:1) For shorter people it’s difficult to reach both the full back of the chair and have my knees bent at same time; this causes an awkwardness to it since my rear is never at the back of the chair. Not great for posture. For me there is an approximate 3-4” gap between my rear and the true back bottom part of the chair.2) The footrest is positioned where if I am sitting in the chair I can’t comfortably reach the footrest too, as it isn’t far enough out from the chair base structure. It’s positioned directly under the chair, adding to the awkwardness of the seating. And don’t plan on using the chairs’ footrest to help you up onto the chair, as then the chair seems to tip slightly forward. If I sit on the chair using footrest, my back doesn’t reach the back of the chair at all, none of my back does.3) The handle to adjust the chair is located under the chair, it’s not a long handle, and does not stick out to the side, like other chairs. It’s actually located directly under the chair and not close to the top of the bottom of seat. It’s several inches down and under the seat, which makes it difficult to reach. Since it’s awkward positioning, I basically have to lean my body to the right and bend my torso, while straining my back to physically touch the handle. Not great if you have back or hip problems.4) The chairs’ adjustable height, is not that great. I would call it partially adjustable, because you cannot sit on chair at lowest level and pull the handle to raise you higher; it just doesn’t work that way. You basically have to adjust the chair to the specified height before you sit down, which to mean means stretching and basically giving myself a small jump, while holding onto the counter and using the footrest to plop myself into the chair. I have to lift my son up and put him on his chair, which defeats the purpose of having an adjustable chair. Now, since he only weighs 40 lbs, if I do pull the lever to raise up, he kind of goes flying up to the top height very quickly. In order to get the chair back down, since he’s not heavy enough, I have to lift him off, try to climb up there and sit down and then pull lever to get the chair to return to lowest position. You CANNOT simply push down on the chair with your hand and pull the lever to ever get it to return to starting position.5) Just a personal preference, I’m not crazy on the chrome plating, as it will eventually become scratched or nicked then flake off. The chairs base would have been much nicer in a flat black finish, as so many other chairs are.So basically I totally feel this was a waist of almost $300.00, as I had recently moved and kept the chairs in the boxes to protect them until I had cleared out the room to a comfortable level. So once the space opened up around the breakfast bar, I assembled the chairs. I cannot return, as it is past the return window. If you’re taller than 5’7”, than the chair would probably be more comfortable to sit in. However, you will find the placement of footrest under the seat to be awkward and the handle to adjust the chair at an odd distance away from bottom of seat. Plus, the adjusting handle not to protrude far enough out that you don’t have to lean over and under to grab it.So lesson learned, don’t buy chairs off the internet, especially if they are bar stools. And now I’m stuck with $300.00 worth of 2 chairs that are pretty, but not really functional.Exactly as described. I wanted elegant tall chair for my bedroom desk. Happy with this purchase. So in love with these chairs,,,, I get consistent complaints!!!!! an their comfortable ❤️♥️❤️Irene House worked with me to get a replacement. The fabric is thin and the foam is already crackly. But it looks nice. Like most of the chairs I've bought made in China I don't expect it to last long. The padding usually goes flat within a year and the fabric wears out and tares in about the same time.I love these bar stools. The perfect color gray. Fabric was soft but durable. Everyone comments on how nice they are. Order these you will not be sorry. I put them together myself they were easy to assemble. Great accent pieces that are usable.Easy set up, weird smell, cleaned them and were perfect. a little wobbly if you crank it to the top, may need a wider base. overall, i love them!Easy to assemble. Very soft fabric and the perfect pink color. I’m using this chair as a backup for my standing desk and it’s the perfect height. Was delivered pretty quickly. Very pretty chairs look great in my kitchen. Made well and seem sturdy. Very easy to put together. I would highly recommend these. Very elegant looking.
