We purchased this to fit underneath our kitchen counter in an area originally designed for bar stools and eating. It fit perfectly in the space and looks good with our dark oak cabinets.The instructions and accompanying drawings are a model of visual clarity, with no possible confusion about what to do or how the pieces should fit. Moreover, it's well-engineered, and everything actually *fit* with no problems. The end result is a stable and solid piece of furniture. The bracing brackets that you put on at the end are ingenious and the secret to the unit's solidity.It took two of us about three hours to put it together, mostly because we were deliberate and careful with each step. One person *could* do this, but it's certainly easier with two--one to steady things and the other with the screwdriver. The only tool we needed was a standard phillips screwdriver.We've used this mostly to store heavy Corningware cookware that we rarely use. The shelves are solid and bear the weight with no trouble. I'm certainly grateful for the extra cabinet space.We're so pleased, we ordered a second one for a second unused portion of the serving space under our counter.
