I got this to be a “feature” fixture over my sink as part of my kitchen re-do. It is the first or second thing everyone comments on when they walk into the kitchen — maybe after the wallpaper — and it gets compliments from all types of demographics. Looks much higher-end than the price. Installed very easily. The brightness really depends on the bulb not the fixture but I will say the fact that it’s open on the bottom means the light is focused well right over my sink. It also makes a really pretty glow when it’s the only light on in the evenings — I was worried about it casting a sickly or Halloween-y colored light but it doesn’t. Of course this will also depend on your bulb.
