These shades were going to be perfect replacements pendants for our dining room but when our electrician went to install he found a design flaw. The metal plate that covers the wiring where it connects to the ceiling is too small to cover existing normal-sized cutouts for light fixtures. Our electrician said he’d never seen a pendant fixture with such a small plate and that perhaps we could find an adapter to make its footprint larger. If you were starting from scratch you’ll be just fine but if you’re replacing fixtures and don’t want to mess with drywall be prepared for these to be too small and need an adapter to cover the hole in the ceiling. We returned the shades.
