Update, I’ve been ghosted by Jonathan Y. They failed to resolve their issue via the “warranty”. I assume they purposely say the parts are back-ordered so you can’t submit a claim through Amazon. DON’T TRUST Jonathan Y.If you are looking at this fan, you are not wanting an ordinary fan. Overall it is unique and the chrome finish and little crystals are nice. I will cut to the chase with pros and cons and follow with my experiences and recommendations if you care to read further...Pros:Overall a beautiful and unique fanAssembly was fairly straight forwardParts were wrapped wellCrystals were pre-installed in the domeRemote is nice, but basic in featuresProvides adequate air flow as most fans with minimal noiseCons:One blade came damaged and Jonathan Y still fails to replace itThe light bulbs that come with the fan are dimBulb replacement after assembly requires disassembly of the housing and blades, which is not easyThe metal filigree blocks a fair amount of light from the light bulbsThe remote does not have a light dimming featureMy experience and impression of the fan. First off, I would rate it better if Jonathan Y stood behind their produce/warranty. The fan was well packaged. The one damaged fan blade looked to be damaged during the manufacturing process. All the components were present and there were some spare screws in case you lose one. The instructions were fairly easy to follow for assembly. Assembly was fairly similar to most fans other than having the upper and lower compartments for the light bulbs. Forewarning about the bulbs... The fan uses compact B11 base bulbs due to the space in the compartments. This limits the options of bulbs you can replace it with. For us, we prefer cooler white light (5000-6000K). Since the metal filigree blocks some of the light, we needed to find stronger bulbs to make up the difference in lumens. Of course this was done after initial installation, which leads to the next point, the design of the upper compartment and the lower light dome make it quite difficult to replace the bulbs. I had to take the fan blades back off to have enough room to access the upper light compartment. The lower dome is not as difficult to take off, but not as easy as a traditional fan design. My recommendation is to have an idea of the type of light you like, take the bulbs from the fan to the local home improvement store and select a replacement before assembly. Also, if the fan will be your primary light source, I recommend getting frosted bulbs to reduce the prism effect from the crystals. When you power the fan from the switch, the lights come on and can be turned off by the remote. Unfortunately the fan remote does not have a dimming feature. The fan itself runs like a traditional fan with three settings. The remote unit has options for turning off the fan at a set period of time. It is not a "smart" fan that can tie into an app, but that is not an issue really. The air movement from the fan is adequate and similar to most fans, which meets our needs. You can reverse the fan direction if desired.Final thoughts... aesthetically, we like the fan. It is unique and different. The brighter frosted cool white bulbs made a huge difference for the feel of the fan and room. If you get good LED bulbs, you should not need to replace them for years to come, but replacing them will be a project. I think my damaged blade is a fluke. I chose this fan partially because I have a different Jonathan Y fan that we love and I was impressed with the quality, so to have the damaged blade with this one was a let down. I am truly disappointed that they did not remedy the issue yet.I will update this review of if and how Jonatan Y fulfills their warranty.
