Yes this chair would be a great dining chair especially since it's a nice nubby material that would look good in anyone's home. The casters roll easy to be able to get in and out of your chair. If I had the room in my home for a dining room table, I wouldn't hesitate to order a set of these. I will put it in my carpeted living room though after taking out a bulky rocking chair that is uncomfortable & no one uses. This chair doesn't take up a lot of room but has a thick stationary back & seat cushion. The arms are thinner and not padded so it adds a more modern look to an upholstered piece of furniture. The back is sewed in 2 pieces so the chair looks good from any direction. I got the warm neutral green color even though the only thing green in my house are a few plants I haven't killed yet. The green nubby texture is mixed with what appears to be beige & light grey colors so altho you know it's green, the chair blends with all my warm colors. If you have hardwood floors you could easily move the chair in any direction to turn to talk to someone or turn to watch TV. The box was large as the chair is fully assembled and ready for you to enjoy. My son came over to fix the now again broken gate & the box was to large to get inside of the garage side door. He tore off the sturdy box and the chair was perfect..ready to be used. I'm 5'1 so my feet aren't completely flat on the floor when I skoot all the way back but I sit comfortably. My son 5'11" liked how he sat in it. My 8 yr old grandaughter hopped up on it and of course loved that it turned and moved so easily across the garage floor. I know you will love having these quality chairs in your home also. 5 stars.
