Made in Turkey, this 100% polypropylene rug is great for the country house where you get the occasional (or frequent) moth. Moths delight in destroying even cotton rugs in that type of location, let alone wool, but they'll leave polypropylene alone. You'll be pleased to walk on this in bare feet since the rug is cushiony and soft. If you have little ones crawling about, this will be comfortable for them as well. Persian rugs generally have a velvety color consistency that is absent here; this is more analogous to faded denim and at first glance it looks somewhat time-worn except for the brightness of some of the spots of color, which include red, orange, green, light blue, and yellow as well as the background gray. Overall, I'm pleased with the appearance as much as I am with its probable longevity in an environment that has been unkind to rugs in the past.
