EDIT 9 months later! This table is exactly what I wanted and is holding as new 9 months later. 9 months of older couple using it (and placing stuff on all the time) and used by our younger grandbabies for eating (and of course them having little toys find way to the table when they eat). No marks and cleans up easily.****This table exceeded my expectations. The base is very heavy and the top shiny and smooth. Maybe an acrylic top. It has been used now for about 6 months by my grandbabies and as a catch all and it’s withstood the abuse. Definitely durable! I needed something for our kitchen nook that goes well in a small area yet complimented my dining room. I love it!
