This is a very well made set, and a great buy. It is very sturdy/solid. Care went into the packaging as well; the same material that is used to protect TV screens for shipping was used on the wood so it would not get scratched.The only complaint I have is that the assembly instructions could have been more detailed. There are dowels that are used in addition to screws to assemble the chairs. No mention is made of wood glue, though in my experience dowels are supposed to be glued in. Also the holes for the dowels did not match... one hole would be the proper size and the other too big (so the dowel had nothing to grip to). I ended up using glue for the dowel and screw holes on the chairs. For the dowel hole that was too big, I slobbered a lot of glue in. Whether or not this is what the manufacturer intended, the chairs are extremely solid. The table on the other hand was straight forward assembly.
