Note that another set of hands is almost necessary to install this. You might want to have your own twist wire connectors handy for each of the three wire connections during install. You'll receive some sort of wire crimp device that requires you to plug all six wire ends in and hold them together using four impossibly tiny screws all while holding the entire lighting fixture up within 7 inches of the electrical opening into which you are installing this.That said once in it’s beautiful and lights the space very well. I read reviews that had trouble with screwing in the provided lightbulbs (or replacing them down the line). The cans that house the lightbulbs actually screw off so you can plug in lightbulbs easily.I wanted to light up a painting over the fireplace. I needed to drop 7 ft from a slanted ceiling. This did both! I contacted the company and they sent extra rods and wire for the extra length I needed. This fixture has a knuckle on the last rod to accommodate a slanted ceiling. I am giving this a try.These are somewhat brass-like but darker and duller than my existing brass fixtures and not that shiny. That was disappointing but most of the issues are with the installation.The instructions that came with the light were faded, in tiny print and difficult to read. I asked for a clearer version and the company sent me these updated instructions which are substantially different. This one shows the circular mounting bracket which comes with the light. It also shows wire nuts which it does not come with but an installation diagram with a push-in type connector. There was one washer and screw. The ground wire is connected to the bracket.I requested clarification but never heard back.This was an unusually difficult installation. The positioning of the circular bracket and the screws that attach to the canopy was a puzzle. It took a few tries before finally getting them so that the screws go through the holes in the canopy. The connection of the canopy to the bracket requires longer screws for a more secure fit.With the circular canopy stationary, the horizontal bar moves very easily as it is attached at only one point. It was difficult to get it straight and if anything touches it like when cleaning, it will be out of kilter again. I did not see anyone else talking about this problem so maybe it is just this light. I have ordered another one as I need a matching pair (sigh, I am not spoiled for choice and I would like to be) so I will see.The bulbs it came with are somewhat dimmable with a Lutron Skylark LCD/Halogen/Incandescent dimmer. They dim about halfway down and do not flicker. I replaced them with the Sunlite 40385 LED PAR16 Long Neck Recessed Spotlight Bulbs 7W. They were the only ones I saw that were pretty long, skinny enough and dimmable. The Sunlite bulbs are shorter than the included bulbs (see photo) and they are fun (kidding) to screw in.The photo of the light shows two of the included bulbs and two of the Sunlites on the Lutron dimmer. The dimmer is set to its lowest setting and the two included bulbs are still very bright while the Sunlites look as if they are off. These are 2700K Sunlites which were the only ones available as a 6 pack. The light from them is warm and not terribly bright which is what I wanted.One of the included bulbs came apart when I removed it. Luckily nothing dropped or shattered. Since this fixture has such long and skinny lampshades, it may be difficult to get bulbs in the future. It really helps to have very long and skinny fingers or tools for these bulbs. Shorter bulbs, more common, would be an even bigger challenge.Edit: I am giving up on getting a secure and stationary install and am returning these.This light would be fine if it were ceiling mounted ONLY two to three feet from targeted lighting area; however we bought it and used it in our only ceiling junction box, which was in the middle of the room. Our lighting target was too far for the amount of light cast. These are daytime photos. We wanted the bright wash of a desk lamp, but from the center of the ceiling (as a matter of practicality). It was not enough, but once it was up (with some hardware adjustments) my husband walked away and was not going to go through the trouble of taking it back down.Using a dremmel, I increased the circumference of a washer that otherwise was too small to screw onto a threaded screw stem. This would have been a hard fix without this tool.If you are illuminating a wall, art, mantle, object should be 2-3 ft diagonal from where you want light cast. Ours was more like 7’, each side.Seriously love. So with the money, beautiful gold color, sturdy and modern. I highly recommend purchasing these. I can’t speak to the installation because we had a handyman install them but he said it was very simple because we already had a light fixture there he was swapping out. since they are smaller fixtures we only did 60 W bulbs but the kitchen is definitely bright enough.Also, I’m writing this review about three months after having them up and there are no issues.One light was flickering. We realized that the light that kept flickering had a different light bulb then the rest. The bulbs come with the product. Once the correct bulb was used it stopped flickering. Other than that it looks great. Love the finish.An attractive fixture at a good price. For those of you who are picky, the color is brass, not gold. Also, as with any ceiling spotlights, depending on how the fixture is positioned relative to where people will be seated, the bubs may be visible, causing glare. To reduce the glare, I replaced the original bulbs with dimmable, lower watt, warmer color LED bulbs. Before you get new bulbs, note that not all dimmable LED bulbs work with all LED dimmers.I purchased the one with 4 lights. The fixture is very pretty, well made and strudy, but It comes with 4 lights (bulb) which are disapponting. They are low in lumen means you don't get so much light from them, besides, the angle that the bulbs spread the light is very narrow.I searched Amazon for light replacement and I found something which is higher in Watt, Lumen and wider light spread angle. I put the picture of the lights (bulb) that I purchased for your reference.These new lights were really game changer!Now, this light fixture look gorgeous and really brighten my living room.So, consider a few more dollars to replace the bulbs.Also, what others said about the mounting bracket is correct. I ended up drilling the mounting part of the fixture and fix it to the bracket that they sent.High quality light fixture. I was looking for gold light fixture for our powder room reno when found this. It comes with LED light. It also came with gloves to handle it. I’m very happy with the purchase. I will check this brand again next time.
