I want to start off with stating that I never write reviews but I felt the need to write one just because of the people who gave a 1 star review for how the tables are wrapped. That’s just insane because the tables themselves don’t deserve a 1 star review; they deserve 5 stars...They’re beautiful!Anyway, yes, the whole table top (top and bottom) is wrapped in plastic which was obviously wrapped before the legs were added. This causes it to be impossible to fully remove the plastic from underneath which you then have to decide to either A. Leave the pieces of plastic showing underneath which takes away from the beauty of the tables, B. use an exacto or utility knife to cut around the bottom, around the table legs and risk scratching the bottom of the tables, or C. Simply take your drill or screw driver and unscrew each side, one at a time, slightly lifting the legs enough to slip the plastic out from underneath and quickly screw each screw back in. I don’t know about you but I preferred option C. It’s so simple, easy and quick! Could they have thought of a better way to wrap them? Maybe...but it probably wouldn’t have been as effective in protecting the table top. I don’t know about these 1 star reviewers but me personally, I would MUCH rather spend an extra 5-10 minutes total on all 4 tables, unscrewing each side and slipping the plastic out, than receiving a damaged table or waste an hour or more assembling each table from scratch. I think people don’t realize they’re lucky these tables actually came 100% assembled because most pieces of furniture purchased online, usually requires assembly. Personally, I appreciate the extra care this company took in wrapping their tables. I bet if they didn’t wrap it this well, there would be much more 1 star reviews due to the fact their tables came damaged. I appreciate the extra precaution. Thank you so much for these beautiful tables. For now, they’re wonderful, look very durable and are perfect! Just what I was looking for! If for whatever reason in the future something happens and they end up not being durable, then that’s a whole different review. Today, my review is for the people who gave these tables 1 star for the stupidest reason ever. Makes absolutely no sense to me. I also want to add that this review is not bashing the people who actually received a damaged product...Sometimes things happen before or during transport and I’m sure the company will replace the damaged product, as was the case for another reviewer.Ok rant over... ?I just hope this review helps someone who’s on the fence about purchasing these tables based solely on the 1 star, plastic wrapping issue, reviews. Have a wonderful day!The TV trays are awesome themselves, but when I got them one was broken. I think it was a problem with the shipper--it was Prestige--perhaps and not the trays themselves, but regardless one is broken. I have taken pictures of the mangled box and submitted them in the packaging feedback section, so in a way I hate to slam the product itself since it is great. That's the reason for the 4 instead of a 5, though. I will also add that the package is SO HEAVY and so restrained in the box with tough ties and such that it is hard to get inside and then difficult to get to the trays themselves once out of the box, so if you have trouble lifting, etc., you may be best off buying it locally so that you can carry in each TV tray separately.To the product itself, once out of the hell of packaging and barring any broken ones, they are beautiful. The wood is solid, they're heavier (in a good way also) than the ones purchased at Walmart, and it's a very pretty finish. I don't know if there's a way to request they not be sent by Prestige or not, but I suspect FedEx or UPS wouldn't damage it to the degree that this was. I say that because I got another box from Amazon through Prestige that day and it was also poorly handled and bumped and banged, and mine sent through FedEx and UPS are never that way. I get several packages from Amazon a week, and these two are the only to come damaged, and both were sent through Prestige, so I figure it's the shipping company most likely.The trays work wonderfully, and I like the strength of the wood and durability of them--if the package hadn't been damaged, the tray would have either.I have had my dining table used up for the past 2 years with a home computer and it seems everything else collects right around it. It makes it hard to have family dinners, so we have opted to sit around the television at dinner time and watch a movie or favorite TV show, sometimes just talk. But, the crumbs or spills are still a problem, so I thought it would be fun to have some nice quality TV trays that wouldn't look cheap or distracting if someone came to the door during dinner time. These are nice enough we even play cards on them, or use them for desks. Sometimes I even crack out my sewing machine to do a quick repair or project on it. While the latter is not probably recommended if you have a heavy machine, my point is the durability of the tray. Go get some and try it out!I don't write many reviews here, but I felt compelled after reading other reviews of these TV Tables.I have to admit, I didn't look closely when I ordered, and didn't realize this do NOT include a storage rack. I would have liked to have one, but shame on me for not looking closely enough. The quality of the tables themselves is very high I would say. They are heavy, sturdy, and easy to use.When I received them, the table itself was shrink wrapped to protect the table, however it looked like they did that first, THEN screwed in the legs and hardware on the bottom. So to best remove the shrink wrap, I actually unscrewed everything completely, removed, then put each table back together. I wasn't super happy about this, but it wasn't very difficult either.I'm giving these 4 stars based on the quality of the table. Be forewarned that they do not come with a tray, and you may have to do some unscrewing to get them unwrapped and ready for use.I ordered these tables to replace my 10 yr old set. I love the dark wood color, and they are just as pictured and described. I only gave 4 stars because the clear wrap that it on each table is impossible to "totally remove due to it being applied then the tables were assembled. This us a small issue but it is impossible to remove all of it underneath the table. The positive is its underneath so it doesn't interfere with the look of the table.Disappointed there was no stand I didnt even notice when looking at the image since the 4 standing up look like they could be on a stand and every single other set on amazon has a stand with it. Removing the plastic was also annoying they should not assemble the tops I would have rather screwed them on myself than deal with cutting around the wood to remove the plastic. If I had known I would have bought one of the other sets that have a stand with it.The tables are decent quality and identical to the pictures (although I think the wood is a little more red than it shows). The table tops come wrapped in thick protective plastic, which is nice for shipping, but they were wrapped before the bottom components were screwed on and attached. This makes it very hard to remove. I had to spend about 10 minutes with a utility knife carving it off per table. That or you'll see it sticking out from between the pieces of wood on the bottom.As others have mentioned the table top comes wrapped in heavy plastic which is very difficult to remove. I had to use a utility knife to remove it and because the plastic is so thick the knife slipped a few times causing me to scratch the side of the table. The tables themselves are slightly overpriced for the quality but still acceptable. Had I known the plastic wrap was so problematic I would not have purchased them.I ordered this tables for a Christmas party that I was having. They are excellent, made of solid wood, rich looking and well made. No Stand to store them on but easily storable in a closet etc. Well worth the money.Perfect only complaint was removing plastic cover as they put hardware over it
