I was looking for some decorative shelves to put all my family/friends photos on, and came across this table. These sofa tables are usually designed to go behind a sofa, but I put it next to one of the walls in my living room and it looks fabulous! Please see the photo I've added to the item's listing (it's got a unicorn in the picture next to the table). The quality of the wood is excellent (no cheap particle board), and it arrived quickly and came in perfect condition (a great big THANK YOU to the seller for using Fedex...the driver was very helpful and said if there were any problems, to contact them, and they'd come and pick it up, to start the replacement process). My sympathies to those who had shipping problems. Although the shipping was pricey, it was well worth it to me in the end. The item listed at $75 + $40 shipping (at the time I purchased it). The dark color of the wood could pass for black, and it matches the criss-cross base of my coffee table perfectly. The table was pretty easy to put together (only seven pieces, so it was intuitive...although the first diagram in the instructions just complicated it). I want to thank all the other customers who left reviews, hints, and advice on it, which was very helpful. The only obstacle I encountered was that I needed an extra hand to hold the sides up while attaching the apron pieces, but was able to manage by placing it next to another piece of furniture (on one side), and having a chair on the other side. You will need a Phillips screwdriver to attach all the pieces to the top piece (don't over-tighten), and like another customer mentioned..."The top piece doesn't have any pre-drilled holes but they are not necessary because the wood is soft enough for the screws to go in with a little elbow grease." There are some lines marked on the underside of the top piece, to help line up the pieces onto it.All-in-all, it's a great multi-purpose piece of furniture, and looks expensive once put together and decorated. I would highly recommend it to others.
