If you grumble because you bought a discount item and it does not have flawless manufacturing or a solid wood seat...I have no sympathy for you. Pay more money and you can get what you seek. Purchasing a very functional, inexpensive barstool that was made in China and came halfway across the world to be a comfortable seat for your bar is a gift to be appreciated. (So is that very poor little chinese person that manufactured it for you at virtually no pay to speak of.) These were very easy to put together on my dining table in just a few minutes. Instructions were simple, parts were nice and efficient (don't tighten the screws tightly before you have installed all of them). They are quite sturdy and look very nice. I previously purchased two very trendy wood seated stools from WallyWorld and made the mistake of not sitting on them before I brought them home. They were horribly uncomfortable to sit on - so, back they went. Yes, these have vinylized coatings on the seats, but I really like that - waterproof and will not be snagging my clothing. So, good quality, good value, look nice, sturdy and affordable...what's not to like? I did remove one star because they are supposed to have black finish on the metal and mine came dark brown. I am okay with the difference, but do note it...My set is used exclusively by my 4 kids weight 135-52 lbs. For them it works. Mind you, it is small and can be a bit unstable on uneven surfaces but that should already be expected considering the price. It fits their plates, cups, and a pitcher comfortably. Usually just push it against the wall when not in use. While I love that the seats go under the table, they can be a bit hard against the bum or smaller for larger rear ends as the rectangular shape is a bit a short in width. Overall, it works and I'm satisfied. When I bought this table, I knew that it was going to be a "$200 table." I was not expecting extremely high quality and was not needing it. I move every 3 years for the military and my furniture usually gets tossed out or donated when I move. This table arrived and I was very surprised when I opened the box. I'm almost certain that someone had returned this table and chairs to the company before I received it. There were significant scratches in the metal legs as well as lots of hair on the tape grouping parts together. It also was covered in some sort of white dust....I assembled the frames for the chairs and the table quite easily. But when I moved onto putting the table top on the frame and the seats to their frames, that's where my problems started. The table was not pre-drilled for holes, so I had to make my own. By the time I had found the drill in the 100 boxes I have scattered around my garage, my patience was already thin. When the holes were drilled, the screws that came with the set were WAYYYYY too short to hold the top onto the frame. Icing on the cake, let me tell you. You get them screwed in and they just spin, there is nothing for the screw to "bite onto" because they are so short. There is maybe a quarter inch of screw left once it makes it through the metal frame to go into the table. The seats are the exact same way. You can pull the table top off completely from the frame if you lift up on it.It's kind of like Russian Roulette at my house now when you sit on the chairs or move the table around my kitchen. Is the top going to come off? Are the seats going to fall apart when you sit down?? Will I break my back falling off the chair??? Who knows!! Give it a shot! Makes for a great drunken party game! So, if you're looking for disposable furniture that may or may not send you to the ER, buy this table and chairs! This is a cute table set for a small space. However, I strongly feel it is overpriced. This is just obvious paper wrapped particle board. However, considering it did work for my limited space, I overall found it to be fairly attractive. However, I'm very disappointed in the assembly process, as there are no screw holes, or even markings for the screws, and the description literature clearly states that they are "now" providing the screw holes, but this in fact was false. And my husband found the assembly frustrating because of this, and he usually does not have issues with assembly. He also said some of the screws that we're provided were a complete joke, because they were way too short and he had to find more to use instead.I can see the assembly process of this table set being a real issue for some. Though it is a fairly cute table and will work well in smaller spaces I personally feel it's quite overpriced, especially considering I initially purchased a Crown Mark 4 piece counter height table set that was absolutely gorgeous, solid, sturdy and made with solid wood, yet it was only slightly higher in price than this 3 piece Abbington Lane table set...... however, I could not use the Crown Mark set because it was slightly too large for our very limited space. I instead found this set to replace it with due to it's smaller size (which did work well for me).....but between the difficult assembly of this table set, and the obvious paper wrapped particle board appearance, I am extremely disappointed in the price of this table set. I feel this 3 piece table set should definitely be under 100$.Looks very nice however I was confused how to line up the tops of everything and how they screwed inScrews are too short. Had to buy proper ones myself.
